			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align:justify;">Daca indeplineste sarcini repetitive si monotone, creierul intra involuntar in  repaus cu aproximativ 30 de secunde inainte de a lua o decizie gresita, potrivit  unui studiu publicat in Proceedings of the National Academy of  Sciences.</p>
<p>Dupa ce au studiat starea in care se afla creierul,  cercetatorii au putut prezice greselile inainte ca acestea sa se  produca.</p>
<p>&#8220;Exista aceasta situatie, probabil intrinseca, in care creierul  spune ca are nevoie de o pauza, iar tu nu poti sa faci nimic&#8221; a Tom Eichele, de  la Universitatea din Bergen, Norvegia, autorul studiului.</p>
<p>El a mai  precizat ca toti cunoastem sentimentul ca, uneori, creierul nu este la fel de  receptiv sau performant si ca nu am facut nimic pentru ca acest lucru sa se  intample. Cand acest lucru se produce, sangele se aduna in zona cea mai activa  din creierul aflat in repaus.</p>
<p>Starea apare cu 30 de secunde inainte ca o  eroare sa fie comisa, iar cercetatorii cred ca descoperirea poate sta la baza  unui sistem de alertare care sa ajute la imbunatatirea concentrarii si atentiei.</p>
<p>Eichele a spus ca un astfel de sistem ar putea fi util, de exemplu,  pentru controlorii de trafic aerian. &#8220;Putem masura semnalul si informa  utilizatorul despre momentul in care creierul intra in repaus, atunci cand  deciziile sale nu sunt dintre cele mai bune&#8221;, a spus Eichele.</p>

Aceasta este constatarea Dr. Harry Rossiter, cercetator in domeniul fiziologiei sportive la Universitatea Leeds din Anglia.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Dr. Rossiter a masurat rata metabolismului unor atleti care au fost pusi sa vasleasca pe o trirema ateniana reconstruita – un vas de razboi folosit in antichitate, care avea 37 metri lungime si in care incapeau 170 de vaslasi asezati pe trei randuri. Folosind analizatoare metabolice portabile, el a masurat consumul energetic al catorva atleti in timpul vaslirii la diverse viteze, pentru a constata eficienta “motorului uman” al acestor vase de razboi.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Comparand rezultatele obtinute de el, care au fost publicate in revista New Scientist, cu textele clasice care au inregistrat detalii ale rezistentei la efort, el si-a dat seama ca vaslasii din Atena, in jurul anului 500 i.C. puteau fi considerati atleti de elita, chiar si dupa standardele moderne.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">”Grecii antici porneau la drum cu cate 200 de trieme, fiecare cu cate 170 de vaslasi, deci nu se pune problema unui grup restrans de barbati cu performante fizice extraordinare,” spune Dr. Harry Rossiter. “Fie aveau o tehnica mai speciala si mai eficienta de vaslit, fie erau cu toti intr-o forma excelenta, comparabila cu a sportivilor de performanta din zilele noastre. Studiile mele arata ca atletii antici erau genetic mai bine adaptati la efort de anduranta decat suntem noi astazi.”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Dr. Rossiter a muncit impreuna cu profesorul Boris Rankov de la Universitatea din Londra pentru a interpreta datele legate de capacitatea de efort a vaslasilor din antichitate. Se povesteste despre revolta din Mytilene, capitala de atunci a insulei Lesbos, aflata in marea Egee. Conducatorii atenieni au trimis o trirema catre aceasta insula pentru a inabusi in sange revolta si a ucide toti barbatii. A doua zi, au decis ca e o masura prea drastica si au trimis o alta trirema pentru a opri masacrul. Conform insemnarilor din acea vreme, a doua trirema ar fi trebuit sa faca acest drum in mai putin de 24 de ore, ceea ce a presupus vaslirea in schimburi, astfel incat sa calatoreasca fara oprire.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">“Folosindu-ne de aceste detalii, am putut estima viteza vasului,” spune Dr. Rossiter. “Apoi am folosit vasul reconstruit pentru a masura necesarul metabolic al ‘motorului uman’ astfel incat sa se ajunga la acea viteza. Daca istoricii au dreptate, probabil ca am avea probleme in a gasi pe intreaga planeta barbati atat de in forma incat sa umplem o trirema si sa vasleasca la viteza de atunci.”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Triremele au reprezentat un progres tehnologic imens, permitand atenienilor sa domine marile. Ele aveau o chila puternica, care se termina cu un varf urias, acoperit cu placi de bronz, cu care loveau si gaureau vasele inamice – o tehnica noua in razboiul maritim. Pentru ca impactul sa fie suficient de puternic ele trebuiau sa atinga o viteza foarte mare – de aceea au fost construite astfel incat sa aiba de trei ori mai multi vaslasi decat vasele mai vechi. Asezandu-i pe trei randuri, vasul putea sa aiba o greutate si lungime care sa il faca usor manevrabil.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;">Trirema folosita in cercetarile Dr. Rossiter – Olympias – a fost construita in 1980 si a purtat flacara olimpica la Pireu, la Olimpiada din 2004..</p>

Aceasta imagine deformata  nu este insa reciproca, aroma de grepfrut neavand niciun efect asupra parerii  femeilor despre varsta barbatilor.</p>
<p>In caz ca nu stiati, inaltimea omului  variaza zilnic. Dimineata suntem cu un centimetru mai inalti decat seara.  Cartilagiile de la incheieturi se taseaza pe parcursul zilei.</p>
<p>In medie,  omul produce 4.545.900 de litri de saliva in timpul vietii. In plus, in timpul  cinei, inghitim de 295 de ori. Daca tot vorbin de mancare, este bine de stiut ca  dupa ce faceti excese culinare, auzul este mai slab. Mai mult, daca mancati prea  mult asparagus, culoarea urinei va fi un galben stralucitor, in timp ce prea  multi morcovi o vor face portocalie.</p>
<p>Femeile clipesc de doua ori mai mult  decat barbatii si ele aduc pe lume un copil la fiecare sapte secunde. In acest  moment sunt mai multi oameni in viata decat au murit de-a lungul timpului. Cei  mai tineri parinti din lume au avut 8 si 9 ani si au trait in China, pe la  1910.</p>
<p>Amintirile ne sunt adanc intiparite in simturi. Un miros sau zgomot  poate evoca episoade din copilarie sau chiar lucruri de care nu paream sa ne mai  amintim. Un studiu a relevat ca intamplari din trecut pot fi rememorate cand  corpul se afla intr-o pozitie similara cu cea din momentul la care au avut  loc.</p>
<p>Asa cum privitul cuiva care casca ne va induce aceeasi senzatie, la  fel de bine putem izbucni si in ras, daca suntem provocati. Cand auzim un raset,  ne este stimulata regiunea din creier responsabila de mimica fetei.</p>
<p>Fara  pigmenti, pielea noastra ar fi excesiv de alba. Insa vasele sanguine de la  suprafata pielii adauga un strop de rosu. Pigmentul galben si melanina sepia  sunt create, la randul lor, de razele UV. Aceste patru nuante sunt amestecate  pentru a da nastere culorilor de piele pentru toate rasele.</p>

Intre 10 si 15 minute de soare pe zi, iti va fi benefic, dar daca stai mai mult foloseste o crema de protectie solara.</span></p>

<div class="text">Formele foarte agresive de cancer de sân vor putea fi tratate prin  manipularea unei gene care ajută la stoparea evoluţiei bolii, eliminându-se  astfel metoda agresivă de distrugere a celulelor canceroase folosindu-se  chimioterapia, arată un studiu realizat de o echipă de cercetători australieni.Coordonatorul studiului, dr. Alex Swarbrick, membru al Institutului Garvan  din Sydney, a explicat că, în urma cercetării, s-a descoperit o genă care poate  duce la scăderea în dimensiune a tumorii. În timpul experimentului realizat pe  cobai, Swarbrick a descoperit că prin manipularea acestei gene se pot crea noi  tumori sau se pot diminua cele existente.</p>
<p>Astfel, în funcţie de felul în care este manipulată, această genă poate trata  simptomele cancerului la sân sau le poate accentua. &#8220;Am descoperit că, prin  îndepărtarea acestei gene dintr-o tumoare, şansele de viaţă ale pacientului  cresc semnificativ. În 40 la sută  din cazuri, cobaii au prezentat o scădere  semnificativă a dimensiunii tumorii.&#8221;</p></div>

<p>Cancerul renal poate fi tratat cu un nou medicament, sunitinib malat,  pe baza de molecule inteligente, lansat, luni, de doctorul Mircea Dediu, medic la Institutul Oncologic &#8220;Alexandru Trestioreanu&#8221; din Bucuresti, informeaza Gandul in pagina electronica.</p>
<p>Potrivit medicului Mircea Dediu, o echipa de doctori a lucrat la un nou medicament mai ales in contextul in care in Romania, apar, in fiecare an, aproximativ 6 cazuri noi de cancer renal la 100.000 de locuitori si 10 cazuri de cancer gastrointestinal la un milion de locuitori.</p>
<p>Produsul  (sunitinib malat), cu molecule inteligente, este eficient atat in tratarea cancerului renal avansat, cat si a tumorilor gastrointestinale pentru ca impiedica dezvoltarea vaselor de sange care hranesc tumora si, astfel, reduce capacitatea acesteia de a se dezvolta si a se inmulti.</p>
<p>La randul sau, doctorul Tudor Ciuleanu, de la Institutul Oncologic &#8220;Ion Chiricuta&#8221; din Cluj-Napoca, a explicat ca in ciuda faptului ca in Romania cancerul renal reprezinta numai 2% din totalul cazurilor de cancer, mortalitatea prin aceasta boala este in permanenta crestere, in timp ce supravietuirea la bolnavii de cancer renal depinde de stadiul in care este depistata afectiunea. Din pacate, &#8220;35% dintre pacienti sunt diagnosticati in stadiul de metastaza (n.r. &#8211; un stadiu avansat al bolii)&#8221;, a adaugat medicul Ciuleanu.</p>
<p>Cancerul renal, alaturi de tumorile gastrointestinale, apare, de obicei, la persoanele de peste 40-50 de ani, numarul barbatilor afectati de aceste boli fiind cu aproximativ 50% mai mare decat cel al femeilor.</p>
<p>De cele mai multe ori, cele doua tipuri de cancer nu prezinta simptome, astfel incat depistarea bolii se face in stadii avansate, cand cancerul deja s-a raspandit. Ca factori de risc in aparitia cancerului renal, medicii amintesc fumatul, obezitatea si ereditatea.</p>
<p>Peste 63.000 de noi cazuri de cancer renal sunt diagnosticate in fiecare an in Uniunea Europeana, fiind inregistrate in jur de 26.500 decese din cauza acestei boli.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Medicii de familie din zona rurala vor avea resedinte, cabinete medicale si ambulante, intr-un spatiu de aproximativ 300 de metri patrati, finantate din bugetul Ministerului Sanatatii Publice si al consiliilor locale, a anuntat ministrul Sanatatii, Eugen Nicolaescu, informeaza NewsIn.</p>
<p>&#8220;Consiliile locale vor pune la dispozitie terenuri si materiale pentru construirea de spatii in care sa functioneze cabinete medicale. In acest spatiu, de 300 de metri patrati, va fi resedinta medicului de familie, cabinetul sau si alte spatii cum ar fi o camera de garda sau un cabinet stomatologic. Totodata, vom asigura dotarea standard de telemedicina, adica asigurarea de asistenta medicala de la distanta&#8221;, a precizat Nicolaescu.</p>
<p>Altfel, pana pe data de 15 mai, toti medicii de familie vor primi laptopuri, imprimante si programe antivirus, achizitionate tot din din bugetul Ministerul Sanatatii.</p>
<p>Potrivit ministrului Sanatatii, bugetul alocat medicinei primare va creste, in 2009, cu 15%.</p>
